Controlling Bad Bacteria In The Mouth Is Great In Preventing Bad Breath
Posted on January 8, 2008
The saliva also helps to control the bacteria responsible for bad breath because it is enriched with oxygen. Gram negative anaerobic bacteria produce sulfur compounds that become gaseous and are the actual odors associated with a bad breath problem. These anaerobic bacteria do not breed quickly when the environment is well-oxygenated which makes oxygen-rich saliva a kind of “bacteria birth control”. Thus, preventing bad breath can be as simple as making sure that your mouth stays well-salivated.
