Recently my daughter was in a play for her group that was a spoof to Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. They kids all played the parts of the little orange oompahs. The kids all had a routine down for movements, but needed a little extra sound. Because we knew how to read guitar tabs, we were able to download the oompah-loompah song guitar tabs and use it as background for the kids to keep rhythm. Even though it was not a complicated routine, the background music helped the kids to stay in step. It took forever to get the orange makeup off, but the show was very successful.

Finding The Right Home Builder
Posted on June 11, 2008
Builders who put in entire developments already have a series of houses picked out that they plan on building. The home buyer usually has the freedom to change a few minor exterior details, relocate a few windows, and perhaps some interior walls, but that is about the limit.
The goal of the builder is to put as many attractive houses on that piece of land as is possible. That might not be the case with every development, but I am sure you get the idea. The builder is pretty well set in his methods. With the large-lot developments, you and the builder have more freedom. And that’s where designers like me come into the picture.
Most builders who build complete developments will often have their own in-house draftsman, but that should not stop you from shopping around for an independent designer. It is very likely that the independent designer will be less expensive than what the builder will charge you for the set of plans they draw up. Building your dream home often doesn’t matter on size, and also do not compromise on the quality too.

Posted on May 11, 2008
Fenton carnival glass is an iridescent glass pattern that was very popular in the early 1900s, with niche interest continuing today. Other companies have made similar clear glass dinnerware over time, but the Fenton carnival glass was usually the most popular. Northwood glass was a major competitor in the iridescent glass industry, introducing their items in 1908.
Soon after it was introduced in a trade magazine in October 1907, the Fenton carnival glass began to be produced commercially. Of the over 2,000 different patterns which have been created, about 1,000 became well known, including the kitten and rabbit patterns which were so popular among children. The remaining 1,000 patterns were not produced in such quantity and are considered rare.
The iridescent glass appeared to have a metallic luster and sheen and was very unique in appearance. Items such as bowls, mugs, vases, plates, and entire table settings are produced using this glass. Popular colors in which the pieces were made were marigold, cobalt, and amethyst and these were the best sellers.
By pressing liquid glass into a hot metal mold the Fenton carnival glass is produced. The molten glass when cooled takes the shape of the mold. A unique mixture containing metallic salts in liquid is sprayed on the hot molten glass and this causes the iridescent sheen. The cooling is carried out slowly taking 24 hours for the glass to reach room temperature. This prevents cracking of the glass due to accelerated cooling.
The pieces were originally sold in the discount shops over America, but, after sales went down and popularity waned, they were sold in the main part to the carnivals, which gave away as prices on the middle course. This is how it got the name “the carnival” glass. The colours of the rainbow fit also into a carnival attitude.
Many people around the country collects Fenton Carnival glass just like clear glass dinnerware. They can usually be seen for sale at online auctions like eBay, yard and estate sales and antique shops. There are many live auctions which feature carnival glass only because it is popular. You can search auctions near you at the web.
Do not forget that glassware are fragile and should be treated properly. Slight bumps are enough to cause damages to their special shine. It may also fade out if exposed to sunlight- so it must be stored properly. Never put it in a dish washer, and wash carefully with a soft piece of clothing and dish soap by hands.
Clear glass dinnerware remains a collectible niche to this day. The most popular of the iridescent glass patterns for collectors is the Fenton carnival glass that reached the height of popularity in the 1900’s. Collectors also remain interested in Northwood Glass pieces. Northwood began introducing their iridescent glass in 1908 and became a major competitor in the market. It can also fade in sunlight, so it should be stored appropriately. It should never go in the dishwasher, and should be washed carefully with a soft cloth and dish soap by hand.

The film may be manipulative in its construction, and cliché-ridden in some of the incidents it recounts, but it has a good, large heart. For all of its hermetic dramatic license, The Great Debators hits its emotional marks with help from Forest Whitaker and a talented ensemble cast that includes Nate Parker, Jurnee Smollett, and newcomer Denzel Whitaker. Great Debaters dvd Washington’s crisp direction and the sharp performances help to leaven the inspirational emphasis of Robert Eisele’s screenplay while steadily building tension. By the time it’s over even cynics will be fighting the impulse to stand up and cheer. As the director, Denzel Washington brings no special stylistic flourish to the film, instead placing himself at the straightforward service of the Oprah Winfrey-produced story. Seeing Tolson expose his young students to the poets of the Harlem Renaissance and instilling in them a sense of pride and rebellion is inspiring Tolson is a fascinating character who could command an entire movie himself. Even when its just one person standing at a lectern, the frame is never static, the tension never slack.

Mesmerizing and highly entertaining. Tim Burtons grand guignol fantasy transforms Stephen Sondheims 1979 musical-theater piece into a cheerfully gothic morality tale. Sweeney Todd dvd Trailer Johnny Depps dynamic performance in the title role is Oscar worthy, and arguably the greatest of his career. A thoughtful, sincere and moving film, buttressed by a fine, central performance by an actor at the top of his form. This is grand-scale studio-work at its most beguiling. The most accomplished almost-remake of The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari since the passing of the silent era.

Its an unfortunate ending for a once-great screen character who deserves to be known for more than the waste he laid to others. Rambo blu-ray is pure adrenaline, a frenzied rush into the heart of a jungle where the prevailing darkness is far more horrific than anything Kurtz could have imagined. Last Blood fingers crossed. Stiffly written, woodenly acted, and indifferently directed. I suppose this is what we get for encouraging the man. The battle sequences are so muddled in execution that we cant tell whos killing whom. Which may have been the point, but knowing Stallone — and Rambo — one doubts that very much.

Javier Bardem steals the show as perhaps the most unnerving screen villain of the year, a monster who ups the ante in terms of tension by holding a cattle gun to his victims heads while flipping a coin to determine who lives and who dies. Its as close to a perfect film as Ive seen all year: ingeniously crafted, thematically consistent, and haunting in its implications. No Country for Old Men dvd Both perplexing and engrossing as it explores humanitys animal instincts. This being McCarthy and the Coens, nothing is spelled out. The seeds are there and they will flourish in a fertile mind. The Coens are wintry and dead calm ironists, and their movie is finally less an assault on our sensibilities than a subtle — and possibly permanent — insinuation into our consciousnesses. The Coens are wintry and dead calm ironists, and their movie is finally less an assault on our sensibilities than a subtle — and possibly permanent — insinuation into our consciousnesses. Wildly overpraised, but a solid return to form for the Coen Bros.

A self-styled maverick of major ambition and, until now, minor films, director P.T. Anderson has achieved a bombastic breakthrough with There Will Be Blood dvd. A haunting enigma that refuses to conform to any recognizable pattern, period or otherwise. I suppose you could see it as a descendent of Citizen Kane. But such comparisons arent really fair to either film. Anachronistic and phantasmagoric, Americas early race for oil is brought into personal terms that resonate with the withering decay of greed. Another phenomenal performance from Daniel Day-Lewis, who balances his characters purpose as symbol and depth as an individual. Andersons period piece evokes memories of East of Eden with its family conflicts, Elmer Gantry in its evangelical moments, and Days of Heaven in its epic visuals. Daniel Day-Lewis performance is the best of 2007, a towering portrayal of searing hatred.

A shabby, flabby date movie Theres no marks for originality and the dialogue doesnt actually fizz champagne-style but the comedy playing is solid with Heigl enjoying a late honeymoon period. Buy 27 Dresses blu-ray A flick thats the equivalent of a bridesmaid dress: colorful, fluffy, and ultimately stored away, forgotten. Its not as funny or original as Knocked Up, but it has its moments. Manages to cover every wedding film cliche in the canon, and does so without yielding any genuine laughs Sorry, Sandra. Too bad, Meg. The mantle of movie cute queen has just been passed to Katherine Heigl, starring as the romantically challenged New Yorker of 27 Dresses.

PS I Love You dvd is blithely inept. In its way, its almost daringly radical in its old-fashioned sentimentality. Talk about uneven. P.S. I Love You is more uneven than an emery board, and every bit as grating when it misses its mark, which is more often than not. P.S. I Love You runs 126 minutes, and that extra half-hour bloats the material into an ugly mishmash in which the attempts at comedy are excruciating and the drama gets diluted by needless set-pieces. Pulling our strings is one thing taking us for a fool is quite another. Little more than a cryfest for those looking to release their own emotions, rather than experience anything new.

Tamara Jenkins has made a movie about something that lots of people are going through but nobody wants to deal with, not even in life, much less in entertainment. And shes done it fearlessly, with the right mix of humor and horror. At its best, Buy The Savages dvd captures the lunacy that comes with coping with sorrow. The Savages proves theres a rich vein of humor to be mined from the darkest of themes. Tamara Jenkins writing and direction are superb. Hoffman and Linneys great skill shows in their picking up on the nuances of sibling hierarchy and habits borne of years and familiarity. Its just a shame the script doesnt push the humour further brief, amusing put-downs arent quite enough to make this a bonafide comedy. But if youre looking for a well-performed drama about dementia, youve got it.
